The Albany Times Union has finally published my op ed in today’s paper. The title is: Authoritarian, narcissist or both, Trump is dangerous
A couple of weeks ago, the editorial page editor, Jay Jochnowitz, told me they’d publish it, but I wasn’t sure when. I wrote it in late August after his nomination at the Republican National Convention, and I hadn’t read it in awhile, so I was surprised how good it is!
I compared my original to the printed version, and found it was identical except for three changes: deleting the time reference and the following:
Could he even believe he’ s God?
I suspect he has a soft spot for Hitler.
Jay thought these statements were a tad too inflammatory and suggested deleting them, and I agreed, although I still stand by what I originally wrote.
I’ve just finished reading Bob Woodward’s book, so I suspect I’ll be writing more about Trump in the near future. Please subscribe to this blog so you won’t miss anything.

Sorry about that. I tried to post a link for it, but the Times Union has a paywall that won’t let me access it. I’ll try again tomorrow. (I’m old fashioned and went out and bought five paper versions yesterday.) If nothing else, I’ll make some copies and send to people, or send people emails with the original.
